Community Involvement
Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. -William Butler Yeats
To help young children learn about the world around them, we participate in local and national events. Participating in these events helps good causes, and importantly helps children feel a sense of belonging to their community by their contributions and actions.
Here are examples of events we have actively participated in:
- Aut2Run for Autism (Families walk/run to benefit the Autism Society of Ventura County)
- JDRF Walk (Families walk to help cure Diabetes I)
- St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon (children ride laps to help raise money for cancer)
- Ventura's St. Patrick's Day Parade (our school prepares a float for families and children to entertain and celebrate with our local community)
Families are encouraged to promote and lead charitable events.
